Sinburning was founded in March 2008 by Mr. Mik Solomon*.
In the beginning we were a closed group of American and European thinkers and humanists who gathered regularly for a common prayer and the ritual of Sinburning.
In September 2008 the Sinburners decided to make Sinburning open on the Internet to dedicated individuals who not only wish to be part of it, but also work hard on their personal development.
This is a new and continuously growing international movement and community with more and more friends around the globe.
Why are we doing this?
- We are keenly aware of the wrongdoings in the world, and would like to make the world a better place for others, for ourselves, and for our children.
- Many wrongs in the world come from the fact that people who committed mistakes cannot “move on” – that is, they remain stuck in the position of a “sinner.”
- This leads them either to continue their harmful behavior or to fall into an unhappy state of consciousness. A “sinner” who longs for forgiveness but cannot get it from his/her surroundings and, most importantly, from himself or herself is an unhappy, hurt human being.
- Being unhappy and frustrated leads to further mistakes and sins, and thus propagates pain and unhappiness in the world.
- The Sinburners seek to help others to get out of this vicious circle and assist them to receive forgiveness.
